Research on Optimization Strategies of Kindergarten Regional Activities from the Perspective of Children's Independent Exploration

Abstract：Kindergarten regional activities, as an open, autonomous and exploratory informal teaching form, are the core carrier of early childhood personalized learning and independent development in preschool education. Independent exploration is an essential learning quality of young children, which runs through the whole process of children’s cognitive development, hands-on operation and social interaction in regional activities. Under the guidance of the kindergarten education concept of "child-oriented development", regional activities emphasize respecting children’s independent choice, stimulating children’s exploratory desire, and promoting the comprehensive development of children’s cognitive ability, hands-on practical ability, innovative thinking and social communication ability through autonomous operation and situational exploration. At present, however, the regional activity teaching in many kindergartens still has prominent practical problems deviating from the concept of independent exploration. Problems such as over-teacher intervention, single activity setting, rigid material configuration, fragmented exploration process and formalized independent operation seriously restrict the exertion of children’s subjective initiative and fail to give full play to the educational value of regional activities in cultivating children’s independent exploration ability. Based on the theories of constructivism, children’s autonomous learning and game-based education, this paper adopts literature research, field observation, questionnaire survey and case interview methods to systematically explore the current situation and practical dilemmas of kindergarten regional activity implementation from the perspective of children’s independent exploration. On the basis of analyzing the restrictive factors of children’s independent exploration in regional activities, this paper puts forward targeted and operable optimization strategies from the aspects of activity environment layout, material configuration, teacher role positioning, activity process guidance and activity evaluation mechanism. The research aims to build a children-centered regional activity teaching system, fully release children’s independent exploration space, effectively cultivate young children’s autonomous learning awareness and exploratory thinking ability, and provide practical reference and theoretical support for the high-quality development of preschool regional activity teaching.
