Research on the Value and Practical Pathways of Digital Technology in University Faculty Management

Abstract: The national education digitalization strategy initiative is being comprehensively advanced. As the most critical lever for faculty team development and the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, the traditional management model for university faculty fails to meet the demands of high-quality development in the new era. Digital technologies, leveraging big data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data platforms, intervene in the entire process of university faculty management, offering new pathways to address the shortcomings of traditional faculty management, enhance administrative efficiency, and optimize faculty development. This study focuses on university faculty management, first clarifying the basic concepts of digital technologies and faculty management, then systematically analyzing issues in traditional university faculty management across stages such as faculty planning, recruitment and allocation, performance evaluation, and professional development. It highlights the value of digital technology in transforming faculty management, and finally proposes actionable practical approaches from platform construction and full-process digital implementation to promote the positive transformation of university faculty management toward digitalization, refinement, and service-oriented approaches. This provides effective reference for universities in building a high-quality, professional, and innovative faculty team.
