Abstract:With the rapid development of digital technology and network media, the modes of artistic communication, forms of expression, and aesthetic structures have undergone significant changes. Compared with traditional art forms, new media art emphasizes interactive participation, virtual experience, real-time generation, and interdisciplinary integration, thereby reshaping the relationship among artworks, creators, and audiences. This paper focuses on the concepts and forms of new media art, analyzing its developmental background, theoretical foundations, and artistic characteristics. From the perspectives of media evolution and digital culture, the study explores the formation logic of new media art concepts. Furthermore, by combining interactive installation art, net art, virtual reality art, and artificial intelligence art, it examines the formal characteristics and aesthetic mechanisms of new media art in terms of spatial construction, visual language, audience participation, and narrative methods. Through relevant case studies, the paper discusses the practical significance of new media art in public communication, cultural expression, and social interaction.
