Abstract:With the intelligent era driven by artificial intelligence (AI), big data and cloud computing, data governance has become an essential part of digital transformation. Meanwhile, the complexity of data flows across borders and variations in regulations bring the compliance cost increases for enterprises and governments. This paper discusses the changes in the field of data governance compliance, describing some regulations from China, European Union, United States and Japan. This paper analyzes the commonality and divergence in these regulations and puts forward suggestions for better coordination in cross-border compliance. We enhance our understanding of how to handle multiple cross-border regulations in data governance for the organizations in the same time promoting innovation and protecting individual rights.
